Rightwing hosts throughout the day heralded Donald Trump’s rhetorical brilliance for stating that, “It used to be cars were made in Flint, and you couldn’t drink the water in Mexico. “Now, the cars are made in Mexico and you can’t drink the water in Flint.”
The line is an unattributed Meme that circulated heavily on Facebook two years ago at the height of the crisis.
Trump was silent on Flint at the height of the crisis. he is silent now, but is desperately trying to co-opt the African American vote. The Right, including Limbaugh, Hannity and others minimized, excused or blamed the crisis on the residents as a means of protecting Governor Rick Schneider. At least three high ranking officials in the Schneider administration have already been indicted.
